Back on June 10, 2018, I proposed to Emily.
And now it’s official, I’M A MARRIED MAN! Despite having a wedding ceremony on August 22nd, Emily and I wanted to commemorate her grandparents by getting legally married on the 1st, sharing their wedding anniversary. We didn’t like the idea of just signing papers and calling it good, so we had an intimate evening out on Tubbs Hill officiated by my dad and photographed by our talented friend Conner Allen. We said our “I do’s” but saved our personalized vows for the ceremony later in the month. Felt very blessed to have my dad there, seeing how he had been in surgery a few days before.
You can probably tell from the pictures, but this was one of the happiest days of my life. I am so incredibly excited to be a husband and begin this lifelong journey with my best friend, my adventure partner, my one and only, Emily. Here’s some of my favorite photos from the day.
As we gave each other our rings, someone on the beach noticed we were getting married and started cheering. Repeating after my dad and finally kissing Emily was surreal. Tubbs Hill is so special to us and holds many amazing memories, and many more to come! After the mini-ceremony, my dad left and we spent some time taking photos with Conner. Here are a few of my favorites, but there were so many to choose from, I’ll probably keep finding favorites every time a flip through the gallery!
After some convincing, Emily agreed to jump into the lake with me. There’s something special about these northwest lakes. Growing up in a christian family, the idea of water being symbolic for rebirth is ingrained in my mind. It seemed like the perfect way to start the rest of my life with Emily.
Ceremony, honeymoon, and many more blogs coming soon! Thanks for reading!
