Based on the rare and distinctive war clubs of the Marquesas Archipelago, this stoneware mug was hand sculpted, glazed and fired by Motu Mikey. This color variant is meant to simulate the palette of the original U’u, which was carved from “toa” or ironwood and underwent a staining process by being buried in muddy taro fields and polished with coconut oil. Like the U’u’s they represent, each mug is slightly different, some lighter and some darker.

Mugs are ~7.5 inches tall and hold ~20oz. Fired to Cone 6.
